  • About Tajik Language

    Tajik is a language spoken by Tajik residents. Persian is a dialect of the language. Tajik, apart from Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, and Iran are also the languages of Tajik.

    Tajik is written in Cyrillic alphabet, but it is written in Latin and Arabic alphabet throughout its history. The use of Latin alphabet in the Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic began in 1928. Then in 1930, Cyrillic alphabet was used instead. The Tajiks in Afghanistan used the Arab writing system.This writing system is still being used by more Afghani Tajiks.
